Hurricane preparedness

To track the predicted path of a tropical storm or hurricane, use the information from the NOAA National Hurricane Center. To see the intensity of a storm and areas of heavy rain, use a weather app that provides radar information.

The HOA does not assist in having hurricane shutters installed or removed. All owners are responsible for the installation and removal of hurricane shutters on their townhomes. Windows, doors and the interior of townhomes are the responsibility of homeowners, so any damage resulting from homeowners failing to install hurricane shutters is the homeowner's responsibility. After a storm has passed, the HOA will provide a deadline for having hurricane shutters removed.

Seasonal owners are strongly advised to employ a home watch service that includes monitoring of potential powerful storms and provides hurricane shutter installation and removal, with owner pre-approval. If you have replaced your windows with hurricane rated windows, please let the association know so the community database can be updated.
